Both types of masks provide appropriate protection with a BFE filter and are >99 percent BFE with complete FDA and CE certifications as well as ISO standards. The design is the only thing that is different.

How frequently should I change my KN95 mask to better protect myself from Covid-19?

It is advised that you change your mask every 8 hours since particles tend to accumulate on it, making breathing more difficult if the mask has retained a lot of particles.
